Aarti Rai is a performing artist based in USA and Australia. Aarti graduated from Tanjore style of Bharatanatyam at the age of 13. Aarti is a former disciple of Guru Vaijayanthi Mala and Guru Hema Latha of Thanjavur Bharatanatyam style. Aarti underwent further professional training in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary dance genres and has worked as a Principal dancer at Footloose Dance Company.  Aarti is one of the top 50 dancers of So You Think You Can Dance Australia 2010 and was an Ambassador of the Australian Ballet. 

Aarti Dance Company is the performing wing & Westbury College of Performing Arts is the dance education academy of Aarti Rai. Classes are offered for all ages in Bharatanatyam. Specific tailored training is provided for students willing to pursue Arangetram and graduate with a Diploma in Bharatanatyam Dance & Performance from Westbury College of Performing Arts. Aarti's teaching Pedagogy is a combination of technique and repertoire, with preferential focus towards nritya (solo) & natya (group) dance performances.

Aarti's 1 hr or 2 hr workshops include warm ups & flexibility, Mudras (Hand Gestures), Abhinaya (Expression), Adavus (Technique) & the Repertoire. Repertoire may be tailored to meet students individual requirements & their personal dancing goals.
